NASA’s Artemis III crew visits Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, and speaks with members of SpaceX’s pad support team. Wearing hard hats and reflective vests over their blue flight suits, NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik, commander; ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Luca Parmitano, pilot; NASA astronaut Andre Douglas, mission specialist; and NASA astronaut Frank Rubio, mission specialist; NASA astronaut Bob Hines, backup crew member, visited facilities around Kennedy and viewed progress on Artemis III hardware and ground systems. This marked the first visit to Kennedy by the entire Artemis III crew and backup crew members. Artemis III will launch four crew members aboard the Orion spacecraft to carry out a series of objectives in low Earth orbit designed to demonstrate critical systems needed for future lunar landings, beginning with Artemis IV.
